Marston becomes Beacon member of Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse

27 November, 2020

Marston is pleased to announce that it has become one of the pioneering Beacon members of the Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse (EIDA).

The EIDA is a growing network of large and small businesses whose mission is to enable employers to take action on domestic abuse – raising awareness among all employees, supporting those facing domestic abuse, and providing access to services to help perpetrators to stop.

Its members include the likes of Boots, the BBC, Lloyds Bank, Vodafone, Chelsea football club and many, many more well-known and established businesses and organisations.

Marston’s Beacon membership exemplifies our commitment to tackling the effects of domestic abuse through the workplace via our policies, training and operating procedures.

October was Domestic Violence Awareness month and this year COVID-19 and subsequent lockdowns have caused a huge increase in domestic abuse incidents of all forms, so awareness and support are more critical than ever.

Our membership will enable us to share lessons and resources on best practice with other members, attend the annual conference and quarterly network meetings.

Elizabeth Filkin, formerly Chair of Marston’s Independent Advisory Group, is Chair of EIDA and welcomes us to the network, understanding that our business is committed to supporting those who need help both within Marston and within the communities in which we operate.
