13 November, 2020
Polly Billington, Director of UK100, a network of local leaders committed to clean energy, clean air and climate action, is joining Marston’s Independent Advisory Group.
Polly is a leading campaigner for greener cities with a background in politics and broadcast journalism. Her previous roles include special adviser to Ed Miliband MP, and reporting for Radio 4’s Today programme.
The Independent Advisory Group meets at least five times per year to hold Marston to account, setting its own agenda to examine how Marston is upholding its values. The Group’s remit spans all Marston services, including those focused on supporting the implementation of public policy to achieve cleaner air and greener infrastructure.
Following Polly’s appointment Nick Ruxton-Boyle, Marston Holdings’ Director of Environment, will attend future Independent Advisory Group meetings as an observer.
Sam Younger, Chair of the Independent Advisory Group, said:
“It is important that our membership reflects Marston’s continued growth and diversification, and Polly will bring valuable insight to the Group especially through her expertise in issues relating to transportation and sustainability.”
Polly said:
“As a campaigner for climate action I recognise how vital it is that stakeholders collaborate in order to deliver better outcomes for citizens.
I am delighted to be joining the Independent Advisory Group, where I will focus on supporting the move towards cleaner, greener streets”.
