Sustainable transport 

Project Centre is at the forefront of sustainable transport, walking and cycle policy and scheme design. We know what can guide clients through the process to ensure that developments work for them as well as future occupiers. 

Transport and movement play a key role in realising site developments. Project Centre can provide expertise on projects regardless of size from small residential proposals to area wide masterplans and regeneration projects. Our experts can support projects through all stages:

Project Centre advises local authorities across the UK on the development of sustainable transport strategies and policies including Local Transport Plans and implementation plans. We develop annual capital and revenue programmes of work alongside successfully bidding for funding from central government. Recent successes include over £12m from the Mayor of London’s new Liveable Neighbourhoods programme for two London boroughs and around £200,000 from the Department for Transport for Electric Vehicle Charging.

Project Centre’s feasibility study services allow local authorities to understand the revenue potential in implementing a workplace parking levy. We are mindful of the political sensitivities around such schemes and design studies to suit client requirements. They include:

Working with local authorities across the UK, Project Centre has links with NSL to provide an end to end service including the design, implementation, management and enforcement of workplace parking levy schemes.

Project Centre has undertaken a wide range of studies on electric vehicles and car clubs on behalf of public sector clients. They include identification of the spatial distribution, forecast of growth across an area and development of deployment strategies. We also provide advice on the operational and commercial feasibility of charging infrastructure options as well as solutions for both on and off-street charging.
